WONCA Executive Board appoints one of its members to be the Liaison Person to the World Health Organization (WHO).
Dr Viviana Martinez Bianchi (USA/Argentina) has taken over this role as of November 2016. WONCA acknowledges the significant work done by her predecessor

Mayara Floss is a keynote speaker at the WONCA World Rural health conference coming to Cairns, Australia from 29 April- 2 May 2017. she created the Rural Family Medicine Café to provide a forum to discuss Rural Health and has now written a "how to" manual so others can expand on the rural cafe movement

WHO Framework on integrated people-centred health services website

At the Sixty-ninth World Health Assembly Member States officially adopted the Framework on integrated people-centred health services (IPCHS) and its supporting resolution, formally giving the WHO Secretariat the mandate to work across the organization to support the implementation, national adaptation and operationalization of the Framework. The new website aims to be a steward for the Framework
