Inflammatory diseases of nasal cavity takes the first place in the structure of pathology of nose in Omsk region. Morphological and functional similarity of mucous of nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses allowed us to design a new method of treatment of the whole system of nose and sinuses with the help of LFUS. Every year up to 240-270 patients with acute and chronic bacterial rhinosinusitis are getting help in Omsk regional hospital (Russia). Method includes 2 stages. During 1st stage (sanative) we were washing out paranasal sinuses with designed by authors LFUS instrument. While doing it, LFUS cavitation effects provides mechanical cleaning and bactericide effect, and variable acoustic pressures promotes to opening of mouths of sinuses. As a result, all pathologic separations were evacuated from sinuses. Instead of separations we were pumping in LFUS-activated medicine. 2nd stage (medicinal) is concluded in applying of medicine on the nasal mucous as ionized by LFUS solution of proper dispersion as 150 mm flow in the regimen of acoustic streams. Phonophoretic and ionizing specialties of LFUS are making optimal condition for transcapillary suction of preparation by nasal mucous. The source of 26.6 kHz LFUS with 40-50 Mk amplitude was standard generator URSK-7N with kit of author-designed wave-directors.
During the treatment process the decreasing of amount of microorganisms on mucous and elimination of conditionally-pathogenic microflora.
The usage of LFUS method of treatment of acute rhinosinusitis allowes to achieve recovery in 94,2% of cases. According to results, clinical efficiency of LFUS method is 39% higher then usual one.
