The object of Wonca’s Global Resource Directory is to make available, on the Wonca website, information about developments in family medicine around the world, and particularly in countries where development is still in its infancy. Papers and reports will be posted as they arrive at Global Family Doctor. They are accessed from this index page.
It is also planned to create a database within the Directory where people and institutions can enter details of overseas development projects to which they are contributing. This will enable those interested in international collaboration to ascertain ‘who’s doing what and where’, thereby increasing collaboration and minimizing overlap and duplication. The database will be designed to enable entries to be made and amended remotely. Once completed, this will be announced, and interested individuals invited to contribute.
It is anticipated that this database will soon build into a valuable resource for those already involved in, or wishing to participate in, international collaborative endeavours.
