For the last month, www.globalfamilydoctor.com has been building the new Online Shop. This will be launched in December 2002 and will have over 1,000 items.

All of your favourite medical publishers will be selling their wares as well as Member Organisations. The upgraded shop will carry CME, CPD and CPE programs for world doctor's ongoing registration, as well as 'public health titles' for your patients.

While most items are for sale, there are free to air items and member discounts available.

We will also introduce our first online courses in 2003, some available via the shop, and some in the Education section as Global Family Doctor diplomata.

Our second Global Doctor of the Month award again went to a very worthy recipient, Dr Nizar Farjou, who has been responsible for many health initiatives in the United Arab Emirates (see Member and Organizational News). We are relying on you to keep recommending your colleagues for this award which honours both philanthropy and quality medical practices.

It is now over a year since we launched the Global Family Doctor service and we are heartened by its regular and increasing use by world doctors. Our webmaster, Professor Fabb, has worked hard to ensure that the daily news and journal watch are relevant to your daily practice so please keep sending your feedback so that we can ensure that we remain relevant to your needs - and we hope that you also enjoy the lighter content we have posted. We look forward to providing, particularly, more education programs and more translated material in 2003.
