The WONCA Eastern Mediterranean Region Conference 2026 will bring together
family doctors, primary care professionals, researchers, educators, trainees
and health leaders in Cairo, Egypt, from
26-28 November 2026.
Theme:
Solidarity in Primary Care: Bridging Innovation and Humanism for a Resilient Eastern Mediterranean.
The conference is organised with the
Egyptian Family Medicine Association and will provide a regional
forum for sharing research, developing practical skills, building professional
connections and discussing the future of family medicine and primary care.

The conference hotel is centrally located beside the Nile. The Egyptian Museum,
Cairo Opera House and other cultural and historic attractions are within a short
journey of the venue.
Scientific programme
Sessions will run from approximately 8.00am to 6.00pm on
26, 27 and 28 November. The programme is expected to include:

Registration
Registration is managed through the official conference website. Early, regular
and on-site rates are available for family physicians, young doctors, participants
from developing countries, WONCA Direct Members and accompanying persons.
A 5% group discount is available for groups of ten or more
participants when all members are registered at the same time.

Abstracts and scientific themes
Abstracts must be submitted through the online portal. Email and hard-copy
submissions are not accepted. Abstracts may be proposed as oral presentations,
poster presentations or workshops.

Accommodation and travel
The organisers have identified three official hotels:

Escapade Travel is the official conference travel agency and can assist with
accommodation, airport transfers, tours and travel arrangements. Taxi and Uber
services are available in Cairo.
A meet-and-assist service at Cairo International Airport and transfers to the
official hotels may also be arranged through the travel agency.
An optional Nile dinner cruise, including dinner and entertainment, is also
planned.

Visas
Participants should check the Egyptian visa requirements applying to their
nationality well before travelling. Depending on nationality, participants may
be eligible for a visa on arrival or an electronic visa, while others may need
to apply through an Egyptian embassy or consulate.
Invitation letters and official visa-support letters are available from the
conference organisers. Participants are advised not to delay their applications,
as processing times may vary.
