IHF, New Collaborative Member

WONCA welcomes the International Hospital Federation (IHF) as a Member organization in Collaborative Relations.

Established in 1929, the International Hospital Federation (IHF) is a global not-for-profit, non-governmental membership organization. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the IHF’s vision is a world of healthy communities served by well-managed hospitals and healthcare services, where individuals can reach their highest potential for health. In addition to providing its members with international knowledge exchange, networking, advocacy, and recognition of excellence, the IHF established the Geneva Sustainability Centre in 2022. The Centre’s mission is to enable hospitals and healthcare services to become leaders of sustainability, developing the information, tools and skills for a healthy and resilient future.

WONCA and the IHF have a converging mission and share similar objectives – aiming to increase the availability and accessibility of quality healthcare services through effective management and governance of healthcare worldwide. The two organizations have worked together over many years through a cordial and enriching ongoing dialogue. In formalizing this collaborative relationship, the IHF’s network of hospital leaders is brought together with WONCA’s network of medical professionals interested in quality improvement in healthcare. Increased collaboration will create mutual benefits for the institutions and their members. Examples of activities include the cross-promotion of initiatives and events, the invitation for WONCA representatives to participate in partner sessions at the IHF’s annual World Hospital Congress, as well as the opportunity to explore areas for joint actions and publications (statements, position papers, research, etc.).
