WHA76: WONCA and the World Federation of Medical Education

May, 2023

During the recent World Health Assembly 76, representatives from the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) and the World Federation of Medical Education came together. This meeting served as a platform for representatives from both organizations to explore and identify potential areas of collaboration.

The meeting brought together WONCA President, Dr Anna Stavdal, CEO Dr Harris Lygidakis, and Prof. Val Wass, Executive Member-at-Large and WHO Liaison, alongside Dr Geneviève Moineau and Professor Ricardo León-Borquez from the World Federation of Medical Education.

The primary focus of this gathering was to discuss and strategize opportunities for collaboration between the two organizations, with a shared objective of supporting and advancing primary care and medical education.

We extend our gratitude to Dr Geneviève Moineau and Professor Ricardo León-Borquez for their valuable contributions and insightful discussion during this meeting.
