WONCA EMR Conference postponed to 2028

The WONCA Eastern Mediterranean Region Conference, originally scheduled to take place in Cairo in November 2026, has been postponed to 2028.

The decision was taken in light of the rapidly evolving regional situation and uncertainty affecting travel, mobility and participation across parts of the Eastern Mediterranean Region, with the safety and well-being of participants and the wider WONCA community as the priority.

The organisers have thanked everyone who has registered, submitted abstracts, contributed to the scientific programme or made arrangements to attend. Scientific and organisational work already undertaken will be preserved as far as possible.

Further information on revised dates, existing registrations, abstracts, accommodation and related arrangements will be shared once details are finalised.

WONCA’s thoughts are with colleagues and communities across the region during this period of uncertainty, and we look forward to welcoming the WONCA community to Cairo in 2028.
