Outline:

Prof Shabir Moosa, co-chair of the SIG, will present the background of the group and its main mission. Prof Amanda Howe, Past President of WONCA and co-chair of the SIG and Dr Sankha Randenikumara, Young Doctors’ Lead of WONCA and incoming co-chair of the SIG will share their plans for next biennium and seek for contributions from the participants.

We currently have identified four priorities:

1) Effective communication
• To continue to build up our interaction with the members, through a strengthened Executive with regional and YDM named links, and with a more active use of the Portal
• To continue our successful webinars to learn from experiences of others

2) Developing skills for making good decisions –e.g. how to run meetings, plan agendas, use minutes to communicate well, meetings software, etc.

3) Developing materials - building learning materials that others can use for their own settings (slides, discussion notes, evidence summaries, reference materials, practical exercises to develop communication skills….)

4) Working with WONCA Executive and other WONCA groups to enhance the materials that we all have available to communicate evidence and policy priorities for the importance of family doctors.

Please put the best slot for your time in the diary now!
Hoping to see you on Friday, 29th of September 2023!
