The 2023 WONCA world conference organisation is progressing well, and we look forward to welcoming you to Sydney in October. Darling Harbour will be bright and sunny then and surrounds the conference activities with sea life museums, boat cruises, eateries, and nightlife nearby.

We are organizing some fabulous inter practice GP visits which delegates can attend. There will be a combination of approaches. The first is a group of delegates will attend a nominating GP practice in the Sydney suburbs with transport organized. Some of these practices will be special interest practices in LGBTIQ and HIV medicine. Delegates will travel in groups of up to ten other GPs and will be able to visit two practices.

The other opportunity is a bus trip of about two hours up into the Blue Mountains north of Sydney. This will be arranged on a minibus, and the group will visit several practices and gain some rural experience in a regional area of Australia. Transport will be arranged back for a full day of activities. This is being organised by Professor Charlotte Hespe and Associate Professor Rowena Ivers and is a great experience they usually share with medical students and trainee GPs. Charlotte and Rowena are on our RACGP NSW faculty council and will be a font of information regarding Australian General Practice.

Next month we will showcase some of our wonderful keynote speakers and their topics

See the website for details as the program takes shape.

It will be my pleasure and honour to welcome you to the Sydney WONCA World Conference, a celebration of primary care and all your excellent work. Its going to be informative and fun!
