WONCA visits Sydney

WONCA CEO, Dr Harris Lygidakis, and Associate Professor Bohumil Seifert, Chair of the WONCA 2013 Prague Conference, visited Sydney, Australia, where the WONCA World Conference will take place on 26 – 29 October 2023, hosted by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

The visit, which aimed to review the preparations for this celebration of primary care, was led by Adj. Prof Karen Price, chair of the Host Organising Committee and RACGP President; Prof Mark Morgan, Chair of the Scientific Committee; Dr Nicole Higgins, RACGP President-Elect;  Paul Wappett RACGP CEO; and A/Prof Karen Flegg, WONCA President Elect.



During their stay, the WONCA representatives discovered the facilities of the International Convention Centre, where the WONCA Pre-Conference and Conference 2023 will be held. They also visited the venue of the WONCA Regional and World Council meetings in 2023. (21 October 2023, and 22 -24 October 2023, respectively)

After nearly half a century, WONCA returns to Australia to celebrate its 50th anniversary in Sydney, where family doctors, GPs and primary healthcare specialists from around the world will come together for the largest global gathering of primary care to share research and discuss best practices, keeping communities healthy on an international level. 

The WONCA World Conference 2023 will offer a dynamic program for in-person attendees and a fully digital experience via the conference platform for those not able to meet in person.
