“We Take Care of Women… But Who Takes Care of Women Doctors?”

The WONCA Working Party on Women & Family Medicine (WWPWFM) Asia Pacific Region successfully organised an international webinar titled “We Take Care of Women… But Who Takes Care of Women Doctors?” on Sunday, 26 April 2026 via Zoom platform.

The webinar aimed to raise awareness on the health, wellbeing, occupational challenges, and psychosocial burdens faced by women doctors across the Asia Pacific region.

The session gathered participants from multiple countries and provided a meaningful platform for regional collaboration, discussion, and advocacy on women’s health in the medical profession.

The programme featured distinguished speakers from the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, and Taiwan, each presenting on important aspects affecting women doctors in clinical practice.

Topics discussed included reproductive health and career challenges, burnout and emotional strain, cardio-metabolic risks, physical and ergonomic burden, as well as occupational exposures in healthcare settings.

Participants actively engaged in the discussion and shared valuable perspectives and experiences from their respective countries.

The webinar also marked an important collaborative initiative under the WONCA WWPWFM Asia Pacific Region, strengthening regional networking and promoting ongoing conversations on gender equity and physician wellbeing within family medicine and primary care.

Overall, the webinar was well received and successfully achieved its objectives in fostering awareness, support, and regional solidarity for women doctors in the Asia Pacific region.
