Editor's pick photos are part of my reflection on a decade as WONCA Editor. Most photos are my own, taken at various conferences between 2010 and 2019. They are favourites for various reasons - some I think are great photos, some are of WONCA leaders captured offguard, and some are from family doctors I've interviewed in the last decade. All tell a story of the WONCA family. The limit for this page is only 20 pictures - the selection was very difficult as I have met and photographed thousands of wonderful colleagues over the past decade. I wish I could include you all!

In Cancun, in 2010, Brazil won the right to host the 2016 World conference - led by Gustavo Gusso, who can forget their joy? RuralWONCA leaders invested as honorary chiefs in Nigeria 2015: Roger Strasser (Canada), Ndifreke Udonwa (host), Ian Couper (Sth Africa), Victor Inem (Nigeria), Bruce Chater (Aus). This has become an iconic image for the WP Nigerian doctors are great conference attenders .. I am sure I've met these colleagues at several conferences. This photo taken in Cebu 2011 - Paul Dienye, Momodu Dania Abubakar, and Ita Bassey Okokon Rich Roberts, in Cancun 2010 with Filipino leaders Zorayda A Golden Anniversary was celebrated in 2012 in Cebu, Philippines - not only women but the men (here their past presidents) wore gold. Still on the yellow theme ; colleagues from Taiwan on Family Doctor Day in 2014 Only black hejab was worn when Michael Kidd visited Iran 2015 - but as Michael often experienced, there were demands for photos with the WONCA president. Ian Couper (Sth Africa) was similarly in demand for photos at the Rural conference in Tacloban, Philippines 2011 More sedate was the WP on Women meeting in Canberra, Australia 2012, with Michael Kidd in attendance. Back in 2013 in Prague, WONCA Europe executive: Harris Lygidakis (now CEO designate), Job Metsemakers (then Europe president), Anna Stavdal (then Europe Vice President) and Carl Steylaerts, Andrée Rochfort, Janko Kersnik and Mehmet Ungan The WONCA editor relaxing on a boat trip in Kuching, Malaysia 2014 with Omneya El Sharif (Egypt) Caught in Istanbul 2015, Val Wass (WP Education chair), Garth Manning and Allyn Walsh (Former WP Education chair) Rich Roberts and José Miguel Bueno at closing ceremony in 2012 - they seem relaxed at the end of the conference. The WONCA Editor (behind the camera) went sightseeing in Warsaw in 2011 with Nordic colleagues Jóhann Ágúst Sigurdsson, Gisle Roksund; Lilja Thorgeirsdóttir; Hálfdán Pétursson; Steinar Westin. Dora Bernal and Lilliana Arias Castillo (Colombia): North American colleagues Ruth Wilson (Canada) and Dan Ostergaard (USA) in Prague 2013 Pakistani colleagues at a Family Doctor Day presentation in 2012 - great photo collage APR friends Tin Myo Han (Myanmar) and Wahid Khan (Fiji) with CEO Alfred Loh. 2012 In Cancun 2010, WONCA Executive members Nabil Al Kurashi (Saudi Arabia), Wesley Schmidt (Paraguay) and Preethi Wijegoonewardene (Sri Lanka) WONCA EMR executive in an informal meeting in Prague 2013.
